Christmas living room decorations don't have to be traditional and if you have a modern scheme you can have lots of fun jazzing it up with trendy seasonal updates that will brighten up the place during the holidays. Pick decorations that echo their surroundings, for example, you could team a bold geometric striped rug and a bronze sculptural coffee table with gold ribbon streamers and dot around plenty of sphered candles in complementing metallic colours to complete your contemporary Christmas living room look. In a teal modern living room scheme, opt for shiny blue baubles on the Christmas tree and lay down a teal and gold tartan rug. Just one or two carefully chosen decorations are enough to make a minimalist setting feel Christmassy. You could dress a sleek granite fireplace with just a single garland of blue eucalyptus sprigs, ivory roses and white church candles, et voilà.
