February 19 marks the 145th anniversary since the death of the foremost hero of the national-liberation movement of Bulgaria Vasil Levski also known as the Apostle of Freedom.
Commemorative events started in the morning with recitals given by children-members of the Young Revivalist clubs.
Later today the Municipality of Sofia, the Sofia Holy Bishopric and the Vasil Levski All-Bulgarian Committee will mark the anniversary with a program of events.
In the evening, at the monument of the Apostle, a ceremony will pay homage to the great hero in the presence of President Rumen Radev, politicians, prominent intellectuals and citizens. |
