| Good exceptions in the Bulgarian summer tourism | ||

| The third biggest tour operator in Germany “RV Touristic” makes 30% growth of the tourists this summer. “Bulgaria has a beautiful nature. There are so many nice places in the countryside. The beaches are great. The cost of living is acceptable. The people are hospitable”. This is not an advertisement in a tourist catalogue and it is the opinion of the product manager of German tour operator “RV Touristic” Michael Nickel. He is responsible for all sales in the Mediterranean and Sea Coast resorts. “We are very pleased of the summer season in Bulgaria this year. We have 30% growth of the tourists compared to the last year. We consider it as a positive development at least all regarding the number of the tourists”, Nickel shared. “RV Touristic” is working with wide range of clients. According to Michael Nickel, may be this is the reason the tour operator is making a growth in Bulgaria in spite of the trend of outgoing tide of foreign tourists. The number of the reservation had been 120 000 for the last year and for the current summer season 2008 the whole number of bookings is expected to be over 150 000. “We have offers for different groups. We offer tourist packs for Spa and wellness tourism for both months May and June. For this purpose we cooperate with other tour operators specializing in the same field. Another group, where Bulgaria is included and gets more popular, is the young generation, the so called “party tourists” aged between 18 and 30. Their visit is composed of big groups and they prefer mainly Golden Sands or Sunny Beach because of the numerous bars and dance clubs. We succeeded to attract again the families with children. There was a drop for tourist bookings in this group in the last few years. We offer discounts for the children in July and August. The price is of importance”, he noticed. According to Michael Nickel Bulgaria is attracting not only with low prices but also with the fact that it has what to offer to the foreign tourists. Despite that he does share the opinion that Bulgaria makes a big mistake: “The building is without control, especially in Golden Sands and Sunny Beach”. The fast building at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is leading to outgoing tide of foreign tourists. The experts are warning about hard consequences, which could be result from the already well known “Spanish mistake”. However, there are hopeful signs in the Bulgarian summer tourism. Burgas and Varna airport conditions have been improved. They cooperate with the German concern “Fra port”. No doubt that will help the quality of the services to be increased. Michael Nickel explained. |
